HORIZONTE ZINGST
The environmental photography festival »horizonte zingst« has become a great platform for photography since its first edition in 2008! And not only that: throughout the year, photography enters into dialogue with both the festival visitors and all other guests of the holiday resort on the Baltic Sea, because: photography is visible all year round in prominent locations - and above all, with great support from the entire Zingst community!
Fotogloria has been connected with photography in Zingst and the environmental photography festival since the very beginning: At the very first festival, we swung the hammer together with the festival's mastermind and curator Klaus Tiedge and the Zingst photo team to literally get pictures and exhibitions on the wall. In the years that followed, we worked more and more with the festival - we suggested photographers, took on talks, moderations, exhibition design, we got our network going, helped out, translated, wrote texts, organized and much more.
Finally, in 2018, Fotogloria co-founder Edda Fahrenhorst was appointed co-curator alongside Klaus Tiedge. In July 2020, she took over completely and became curator of all photography in Zingst: "It is a great pleasure and no less a great honor for me to bear the visual responsibility for such an exciting festival and all other exhibitions over the course of the photo year. I have loved the festival since the very beginning and find it extraordinary that photography has found such a committed home in Zingst! In addition, I take on the content-related challenge from the very beginning - dealing with all relevant environmental issues - with passion."
At this point we would like to report on the latest news from the festival and of course also offer a review (see below) of past activities.
